IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
This low power photomicrograph taken from the synovial tissue shows extensive histiocytic proliferation within the subsynovial tissue with many large giant cells and occasional hemosiderin deposits. From this tissue, the pathologist felt secure in his diagnosis of profuse synovial pigmented villonodular synovitis.
