IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
High power photomicrograph shows in better detail the atypicism of the nuclei of the epithelioid cells with occasional mitotic figures and a few scattered inflammatory lymphocytes in the same high power field. The epithelioid cells were cytokeratin positive. In this case, the patient was treated by a below-knee amputation because of extensive involvement of the plantar aspect of the foot. There was no lymph involvement and the patient did not develop pulmonary metastases which can occur in 50 per cent of cases.
