This low power photomicrograph shows benign cartilage with a lobulated pattern arising from the teno-synovial tissue of the involved digit and thus the diagnosis of primary teno-synovial chondromatosis. Following removal of these loose fragments, the patient regained full flexion of the involved digit and there was no recurrence.
